About Carmen

Carmen Hodges is a young and talented individual born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She recently graduated from Bethune Cookman University in December 2025. From an early age, she knew what she wanted to do in life, and always found a way to put her creative mindset to use. She loves to challenge herself with creativity, whether it's in writing or filming, and help bring the visionary to life. Carmen loves being a writer and a creative director because it allows her to express herself and share it with others. Everyone has charisma and is innovative in their own way, but Carmen brings much more than that because she is unique and can share that uniqueness through creative writing.
Inspiration can come in many different shapes and forms, but Carmen's inspiration comes from God and her family. Before she was even born, God knew and had already envisioned a plan He had for her life. Even when she was little, her family saw that she had a gift and natural talent when it came to either filming or creative writing. Her family has inspired her and continues to inspire her to achieve her goals and do great things; along with their encouraging words and believing in her knowing she'll become a future creative writer/ director in the film industry someday. Carmen likes to enjoy many hobbies such as listening to music, going to the beach and listening to the sound of the waves, trying new things like diving with sea turtles, trying new foods, shopping from stores like Shein, Nike or Fashion Nova, hanging out with friends, traveling and more.
Speaking of traveling, Carmen was a military child, which meant she and her family had the opportunity to travel. From Florida to Minnesota, Minnesota to Hawaii, and Hawaii to California. Therefore, she attended two different high schools, but she graduated from Vanden High School in Fairfield, California. As she has attained her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications. While in college Carmen has accomplished numerous entities and is still doing so. She is a current member of the Caribbean Students Association, NCNW (National Council of Negro Women), at Bethune- Cookman University. She recently became a member of the A/V team at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, became a member of the NABJ (National Association of Black Journalists) Chapter at B-CU, CFABJ (Central Florida Association of Black Journalists), along with Voice of the Wildcat, CatEye Broadcast Productions, and was the Director of WM>V News; Script Writer for two short films, B-CU Chapter of VISION Member, and a member of B-CU reel Motion Society. In Spring 2023, Carmen made the Honor Rolls list with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. She completed her internship at WELE 1380, The Cat Radio Station in Ormond Beach, Florida, with Mr. Ford, the Supervisor of WELE, as her mentor. She recently began volunteering at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida, as an assistant to the Media Room Supervisor, Mrs. Horton. As Carmen has graduated, she loves engaging in projects and learning every day about her future career.
